The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA) offers an active program for youth and families. Programs include art classes for Edison Elementary school students in the JSMA’s art studio and off-site at local elementary and middle schools during the school year; art camps during school breaks; family days, which feature art projects inspired by museum exhibitions, music and theatrical performances, and family-friendly tours; and ArtPacks, self-guided gallery activities for families.
After-School Art Class for Edison Students at The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art
After School Art Class: Sustainable Art
Thursdays, January 11 – March 1, 3:00-4:30 p.m.
$80/$72 for JSMA Members (scholarships are available; please download from our website or contact for more information).
Edison Elementary students will explore relationships between healthy eating, art, and the environment. Students will explore the museum’s galleries and will learn about sustainability as they create unique mixed-media works of art. This class is great for all levels and will introduce young artists to a variety of materials and styles of art.
We will set up a carpool/walking group so that transportation to the museum does not prevent students from signing up for class. Parents/guardians are responsible for pick-up at the museum.
Registrations Due January 5th
